Summertime Sadness

Summertime Sadness

Hello there! It seems as though summer is slowly, but surely coming to a close. Brings that summertime sadness! I had an amazing summer working two jobs and taking summer courses. (Lots of fun...) I really haven't had my vacation yet, but I am headed to Southern California very soon to take a break before schools starts again. I might have not had the most AMAZING summer, but hands down it was one of the best decisions I have done in my life. I grew to be much more independent this summer by working everyday and paying my own food, rent, and necessities! I missed the luxuries of home, but I guess one has to look at the better things in life. I had an internship at a financial advising firm that required me to go up to different people and ask about their finances and career success, which made me a more confident person overall. I spoke to people from all sorts of backgrounds! I had my down moments too..... As crazy ,but kind of funny as it sounds I passed out in the college gym. Wow that was a BUST! Pretty embarrassing, but I got over it... One incident isn't going to stop me from being myself. Oh well.... I guess it happens...... I have learned to value many things that people take for granted. Whether it be freedom or health, being safe in my country and home. While I sip on my coffee here typing up this blog, many all over the world are simple asking for clean water, sanitary conditions, a comfortable bed for sleep. I take it for granted time to time, but this summer I had the opportunity to talk to students from different parts of the world thus changing my perspective. What are you grateful for? Have you thought of it recently? That computer, smartphone, or tablet you read from? Worth maybe 100, 200, 1000 dollars? It's acceptable in our society, but what can that money do? Save a life. Let me know your thoughts if you have any! I don't have many readers, but you never know!
